Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the swift service, often highlighted in reviews for its efficiency. Many mention the friendly staff, bringing a touch of humor and warmth, making the takeaway experience feel personal. Trawlers' commitment to quality shines through their fish and chips, with many declaring it the best chippy in the area. Meat lovers particularly enjoy the sausage and scallop barm, known for being delightfully fluffy and delicious. The variety of options also pleases; from homemade specials like curry and chili con carne to classic extras like mushy peas, there's something for everyone. Families appreciate the kid's menu, which provides beloved choices that fit their little ones perfectly.

Most Disliked

While Trawlers enjoys a solid reputation, some patrons mention a need for improved parking options. It's primarily street parking, and during busy times, it can be trickier to find a spot. A few reviews point out that, though the food is great, there can sometimes be a wait during peak lunch or dinner hours, which might test patience. There's also mention of the oil taste in some dishes—not uncommon with fried food—but something to be aware of if you're particular about that. Lastly, some critics wish for a larger menu selection, although Trawlers emphasizes quality over quantity with their existing offerings.

Just popped in to get myself and My grandad something quick before we head off out tonight. We got a sausage and a scallop barm. Was absolutely beltin. The Barms were lovely and fresh. Very soft and fluffy and the scallop and sausage was cooked perfectly. There's not one decent chippy near me in reddish so was well worth the short trip. 😁 staff are lovely too! Very friendly and very funny. 🤣

I visited with friend and found the sausage and chips to be really good. My friend bought fish and chips which was equally good. Nice people and a good product. I recommend Trawlers as a good takeaway chip shop at a reasonable price. Tell them that Niall sent you, they really won't know who you are talking about:-)

Great food and wonderful chat behind the counter. Typical Manchester friendliness coupled with good value and quality fried food. Even my mum loves the fish and mushy peas (and that's a compliment believe me)! Parking is a pain, so best to walk if you can.

This chippy is divine, the chips are always fresh and excellent, the staff are friendly and fast. It has long opening hours and the prices are very reasonable. Treat yourself. I recommend a chip barm with curry on, also known as currychipbaaarm.
